FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why am I told by Mini Station Officers to call 911?

In Philadelphia, 911 is the best way to contact first responders including for Police Service. The officers at the Mini Station might direct you to call 911 just like other Police Stations in the city or they may recommend you call another local Police Station due to the nature of your request.

  • Why is Calling 911 so important?

Calling 911 allows trained dispatchers to speak with you directly and send your call to Police, Fire, EMS or multiple agencies. Calling 911 also allows the dispatcher to better prepare first responders of the situation and inform other first responders who may be needed quickly to assist. This makes sure your call has the best chance of getting the proper response. Calling 911 allows the Police and City to track emergencies, crimes and calls for Police to better serve the community.
